Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, is the name we have given to the new SchoolPRO. Once complete, we believe Sirius will be the brightest product on the school administration software market.

Sirius is a completely redesigned application which merges the best of SchoolPRO with the great interface and server technologies now available. The incredible functionality provided by SchoolPRO will be maintained and enhanced in this new release due in 2011.

The completely redesigned interface will look great and will provide significant productivity improvements. We are also taking great care to reduce the learning curve for existing users by ensuring the core processes remain familiar. Yet, at the same time, we will be making Sirius easier to use for everyone.

Sirius is being developed using the latest visual technologies including VB.Net 2008, MS SQL Server 2005, an object oriented approach to database integration, and the latest third party controls.

Users expect (and need) a rich client interface.

People expect a rich client that has plenty of functionality. Although the web has developed enormously in the last five years, web applications are still years away from being able to provide the functionality we expect from applications such as MS Word, Quickbooks or MYOB. Sirius will provide the rich user interface that users expect.

Just like a web application - only better.

An exciting new feature of Sirius is its ability to operate over the internet. You will be able to use Sirius to access your school data from any computer in the world. But you will not be using a web browser to do it. You will use the same interface used at school. We expect the productivity increases from this approach to be significant. At the time of writing, we understand these features to be unique in the school administration software market.

Using local resources.

Current web applications have limited access to local resources and applications like MS Word or accounting packages. Smart Clients like Sirius do not have this limitation. That means that generating reports in MS Word or sending data to Quickbooks and MYOB can be done anywhere.

Scalability is built in.

The Sirius Business Object Server can run on multiple balanced servers. This will ensure that, as your school's needs continue to grow, the SchoolPRO database will grow with it.

One of the challenges with a package that has as many reports as SchoolPRO does is designing a way to for the
end user to locate the report he or she wants. Our new report manager will make that simpler with a new search
and display option.
Reports are displayed in their own tabs making them easier to review
Improved functionality for exporting reports to PDF, CSV, images and more are provided.
Label Wizard will make creating label documents easier

The security options for multi-campus and multi-school organisations is very comprehensive.

The layout of forms and the position of dockable windows all helps you to be that little more productive.
