SchoolPRO allows for the recording of incidents, censures or commendations. The staff member enters the details of the incident into SchoolPRO as a Behaviour Report. A behaviour report consists of one or more incidents and the action(s) taken as a result of the incident(s). As reports begin to build up in the system, senior members of staff can review the reports and decide whether further action needs to be taken. They can also decide whether a submitted report is valid or not and reject or OK it accordingly. This process can be aided by the use of triggers which can be set up to perform actions when particular criteria are satisfied. For instance, a trigger could be set up to add a "Meet with Year Level Co-ordinator" action for any students who have received more than eight censured incidents in a week. Likewise, you may want to find students who have received 3 commendations in the last month to award them with "Good Behaviour" certificates. The Behaviour Module can also be used to manage student levels. As students accumulate censures or commendations, their levels can change. The movement of students between these levels can be initiated by triggers. What is a Behaviour Report? A behaviour report is a compilation of incidents and actions that were recorded as a result of a situation that occurred between a staff member and a student. The reason for a behaviour report being submitted could range from a uniform infringement to a more serious incident, like, swearing in class. Behaviour reports can also be submitted for commendable incidents carried out by students, such as, working well with peers or consistently displaying a good attitude to work. By recording both censured and commended incidents, a better overall view of a students performance can be seen. When behaviour reports are added to the system, the are linked with the students current behaviour level. This makes it easier to determine what incidents occurred at a particular level. |
