Version 5.0 Major Release - December 2006

 

Version 5.0 of the SchoolPRO software is now available.  This is classed as a major update and as such you will receive an installation CD in the mail. 

We have produce a video tutorial demonstration that shows exactly how to do the upgrade step-by-step.  It runs for 7mins and can be easily fast forwarded to the interesting parts :-).

If you have any upgrade issues, please dont hesitate to contact us.  We also provide a cost effective upgrade service where we will remotely upgrade SchoolPRO and one PC at your school for a flat rate of $99.

Upgrade to Version 5.0 Written Instructions... Video Demo... Get any late changes... Download the CD...	The upgrade process has not changed since the last release.  1. Put the CD in the drive 2. Choose the Upgrade option to install the new client and server files 3. The System module should start automatically.  If not, launch it now. 4. Log in as SPA and update the existing server data files. 5. Click the blue 'Prepare the Client files for distribution' link     - This allows you to link and copy the client files. 6. Update the client files on the other PCs that also use SchoolPRO.
After the Upgrade	There a few things you should do after you upgrade: 1. Update the existing attendance data to the new format. 2. If you wish to use the new mapping features of SchoolPRO geocode your addresses. 3. If you wish to record Immunisation data for staff and students, create the immunisation records. 4. If you wish to use the PDF Fee Statement functionality, setup the PDF Creator printer and specify the Entity Documents folder.
Free Training!	To help schools get up and running with the new version as quickly as possible we have credited all schools with one free hour of remote training on the new version.  Contact us to schedule when you would like to receive this hour of training.
Some New Features
New Admin Module	The Admin module has been revamped significantly.  All SchoolPRO modules can now be accessed through the single Administration module.  The main entity details form also provides quick access to data across all modules.
New Parent/Teacher Interview Module Operating manual...	A Parent/Teacher Interview module has now been added to SchoolPRO that allows school to more easily schedule interviews with parents.  Key features include: - The ability to see at a glance which time slots are available for a student - Create meetings that include any number of students, teachers and parents - Generate custom reports through the MS Word report writer - Have several interview schedules running simultaneously (ie one for primary and one for secondary each using different time slots etc)
Web Inquiry Try it out here...	The web inquiry module now allows teachers to access the Inquiry Module information over the internet.  Installation instructions can be found here.
Email fee statements direct to debtors	Fee statements can now be printed to a PDF file and then automatically emailed to the appropriate recipients.  We have also added an additional and much requested feature that allows schools to automatically generate a copy of a statement for a debtor which is addressed to the nominated individuals.
Produce Enrolment Projections for any subset of students.	We have had  numerous request to be able to produce additional enrolment projections for various subsets of students.  This is now possible and will enable schools to produce projections based on relgion, gender, ethnicity, special needs, custom fields and many others.
Integration with Google Maps.	It is now possible to plot the location and number of students on a map of your local area.  Some schools may find this useful to help plot bus runs, easily identify areas that for marketing or simply locating exactly where a student lives.
